Childrens Health

Nutrition Matters

Good nutrition from the start of your child's life is essential for their optimum health and development. The right foods will provide sufficient nutrients to nourish their bodies and minds. Establishing good eating habits early in their life contributes tremendously to a healthy, happy childhood and is more likely to lead to a healthier lifestyle in adulthood.

Many parents and child carers however struggle with getting children to eat nutritious food on a daily basis. With our hectic, busy lives it's all too easy to get swept along with the increasing range of fast food and convenience products aimed at children. Whether it's for ease or to 'fit in' with others it can have a devastating effect on your child's health.

But cooking healthy, delicious meals for your children does not have to be complicated. I have spent many years writing recipes for families and children, advising child care staff and chefs on healthy meals and working with parents and children teaching cooking skills and how to prepare and enjoy healthy foods. The recipes I create are simple and straightforward with the emphasis on nutrition and taste. They use quality wholesome ingredients to create fun and imaginative recipes children will love. Many of these recipes are included in my Tasty Treats for Healthy Kids Recipe Booklet

Information for Parents and Carers

What your child eats can have a profound effect on their health, growth, development and even performance at school. Over the last few years children's diets and health have been under the spotlight. The Department of Health estimates that 1 in every 3 children in England will be overweight or obese by 2010 with many children failing to get sufficient vitamins and minerals needed for a healthy body. As parents you are in an unique role to provide your children with nutritious food to nourish their bodies and minds which will not only change their health now but also in the future.

Christine Bailey is able to offer meal planners, advice, courses and workshops to help you create a healthy diet for yourself and your children. Want some ideas for healthy snacks and treats? Then buy Tasty Treats for Healthy Kids Recipe Booklet Now!
